Your job

As Manager Sales Engineering, you manage 27 colleagues, including two team leaders (direct reports) of the departments: industrialisation, project engineering and sales engineering. As a manager, you are ultimately responsible for the (commercial) results and your focus is on tactical, strategic developments and improving and optimising internal (work) processes. You make the results transparent and measure them on the basis of KPIs, SLAs, dashboards, margins and cost of special items that your team quote and engineer. You report to the Group Manager on a weekly basis by means of transparent reports. In addition, you are able to review processes so that ongoing improvements can be made and to inspire and coach teams in a natural way. This will benefit the results. In that context, you also engage in many discussions with internal and external parties. You'll also consult with other Heras departments to see how we can better serve our customers and provide them with perimeter protection solutions. Below is an overview of your main tasks as manager:

  • Coaching, inspiring and motivating team members
  • Making results clear and measurable by setting up KPI / SLA dashboards
  • Optimizing the internal (more effective, more efficient) work processes
  • Integrate resource planning and structure in the departments
  • Consultation with internal and external stakeholders, apply better customer focus
  • Participate in projects for the further professionalization of Heras
  • Thinking along on general policy procedures
  • Ensuring a smooth and complete transfer of the projects between the departments, you also solve any escalations
  • Performance interviews

Your profile

Our ideal Manager Sales Engineering has experience in managing larger technical sales teams and is able to lift departments to a higher level by designing processes more efficiently and effectively and making results (input & output) measurable. With enthusiasm, you know how to lead change and to develop the teams commercially.

  • You are in possession of a Master's degree (WO);
  • You are business oriented and have extensive work experience (minimum 5 years) in managing larger teams and departments;
  • You have a proven track record in (re)structuring technical sales teams and implementing KPI, SLA dashboards, BI tooling;
  • You are an inspiring leader with a strong commercial streak;
  • You have excellent communication skills, are stress resistant and know how to build bridges between different departments and stakeholders;
  • You are perfectly capable of preparing reports (Excel) and giving presentations at board level;
  • Excellent command of the English and Dutch languages, both verbally and in writing.
